Hole Eight

PAR 3, 156 M, INDEX 15

Hole Eight

Hole Descriptions

Stepping onto the 8th tee, golfers will feel that the grand finish of the nine is commencing. Situated on one of the highest parts of the 1st nine, one will see all the way down and even catch a glimpse of the club house in the distance.

The 8th hole is the shortest hole on the nine, and playing downhill by some 6 metres, will play somewhat shorter than the stated 150 metres. It is situated in a very intimate and enclosed valley, surrounded by steep mounds on both sides. Golfers hit from one of three stepped tees, with a short iron to a green surrounded by 4 bunkers.

The back left “tournament” pin position will be best found by hitting a slight draw, but as the hole is short, accuracy rather than shot shape is the primary consideration. The green will be set up with multiple pin positions separated by subtle level changes, adding considerable variation, interest and difficulty on what would otherwise by quite an easy golf hole.
